In this article, I will alternate between these names when describing how to properly and optimally choose a hot tub for your needs and the place where your future hot tub will stand. Often meeting with clients, she gets questions "what Russian banya will be the best for me", "what to look for when buying", "how many nozzles should my garden jacuzzi have". I will try to answer these and other questions about hot tubs. I hope this article will help you choose the “PERFECT TUB FOR YOU”!

Let's start with the model.

First of all, you need to consider how many people you plan to use the hot tub most often. How big a family do you have or how many friends and acquaintances do you plan to invite to your future Russian banya. We can distinguish two basic models that will differ from each other in external appearance.

The first is a garden jacuzzi with an integrated stove. These models of the garden tub are characterized by the fact that the stove mounted in the garden tub is located in the middle of the garden tub, it is an integral part of the entire structure. This type of jacuzzi allows you to minimize the amount of space we need to place the hot tub. Such jacuzzi models are chosen by people who have small gardens, most often they are purchased by owners of terraced houses or semi-detached houses. Of course, this is not a rule and an indicator. “I have a small garden, so I have to buy such a set”! Remember, you can choose the type of garden jacuzzi you want.

The amount of space in such sets is definitely smaller and they are designed for 4 / 5 adults. Think it over before buying your future hot tub.

The second model of the garden hot tub is a hot tub with an external stove. As the name suggests, this type of hot tub differs in that the heating unit / stove is placed outside the contour of the tub. When planning the purchase of such a tub, we must take into account that such a Russian banya needs about 8.5 m2, as opposed to a tub with an integrated stove, about 6.5 m2. For some people, the amount of space doesn't matter. We must additionally remember that our future garden jacuzzi must be located at the right distance from the neighbor's fence, our house or the road. Personally, I am a supporter of this type of hot tub because, in my opinion, they offer more possibilities and space inside. The Russian banya equipped with an external stove gives the possibility of comfortable use for up to 6 / 8 adults.

We have a model, what's next?

Okay, we've gone through two models of hot tubs, I hope you already have your type. The structure itself is not everything. Of course we can buy a jacuzzi without systems like hydromassage and air massage. Just what for? This solution was good 15 years ago when there was no such choice. I always tell my clients that buying a Russian banya without the above-mentioned systems is no different from the bathtub we have at home. All the fun and pleasure is that we can relax in the fresh air and take a hot bath with some air bubbles and water jets that massage our tired back after a long day, we deserve it after all!!

A garden jacuzzi with an air massage and hydromassage system is much more expensive than the basic set, due to the cost and installation of additional equipment. However, we must remember that such a purchase is to serve us for many years.

What heat source?

We have already discussed the models and possible possible systems that we can install in our dream garden tub. We should also mention the ways of heating our water. The most popular and oldest are, of course, wood-burning stoves - this solution is chosen by people who value tradition, celebrate the very fact of lighting the stove and have access to wood or are the owners of their own forest ;)

Another possible way is to install an electric heater with a thermostat in our garden tub. It is a simple and virtually maintenance-free solution. Most often, people who use a garden jacuzzi for commercial purposes decide on this type. The owner of the Jacuzzi does not have to watch at what stage the wood is burned in the stove and whether it is necessary to supplement the combustion material. We fire it up, set the set temperature and that's it.

An identical solution can be a garden hot tub with a gas connection. Even though a properly made installation is 100% safe, I often hear from customers "you know it's different with gas". These two models are great for small gardens and the lack of smoke created by burning wood will not disturb our neighbors.

Hybrids - these are garden jacuzzis that use at least two of the water heating systems described above. The most common option chosen by customers is the combination of a wooden stove with an auxiliary electric heater to maintain the set temperature.

Exterior finish.

At this stage, I can safely say that we have covered practically 60% of the whole issue. We are left with the last two elements that are important in choosing our future garden tub. Sheathing, in other words, exterior finish. Most often we meet garden jacuzzi, which are finished with spruce or pine. We can also use materials such as thermowood, artificial WPC material or Canadian red cedar.

The choice of material is important. There are materials that will not require maintenance twice a year. One of such materials is thermowood. The technological process of such wood allows us to completely forget about any impregnation. Manufacturers assure us of the lifetime of such wood at the level of 25-30 years. It is resistant to moisture and mold. It should be remembered, however, that thermowood exposed to UV rays will change its color. It acquires a specific patina and nobility. This type of finish is certainly a more expensive solution at the initial stage of purchase, but over the years we will appreciate this choice.

We have a selected model, type of hot tub heating and external finish. The last element that we must remember about is the cover of our Russian banya. It's about the cover. As of today, two models are the most popular, the first one is a laminate cover, most often chosen in the same color as the insert. It is a cheaper solution and I personally do not recommend this solution. This cover cannot be handled by one person, it is easier to damage it, we have greater heat losses using such a cover.

The second solution is the so-called thermo cover made of large sheets of thick polystyrene, additionally trimmed with eco leather. It has all the advantages that the laminate cover did not have. In addition, when using the tub only for two or three people, we do not have to remove the entire cover to be able to enjoy a hot bath. The water cools down more slowly, generating lower heating costs for the water itself.
